Dive
Destinations
 Similan
Islands - These nine small islands have a reputation
as one of the world's top ten dive destinations. Largely
because they offer a great variety of marine life. Aside
from coral walls and deep dives with huge sea fans, barrel
sponges, and big fish, the bottom topography is also fantastic.
Large granite boulders overgrown with coral and algae lie
jumbled together all the way from the surface to 40 meters
(132 ft.) and below, providing many interesting swim-through,
canyons, archways and caves. The Similans also have a rich
variety and abundance of reef fish. Deep water creatures
like manta rays and whale sharks also visit the area, particularly
in season from February to early May when nutrient-rich
water cause planctonic blooms. The visibility ranges between
15 and 40 meters (50 - 132 ft.), and shallow coral in blue
water at white, sandy beaches are the perfect surrounding
for snorkeling or relaxed sunbathing.
 Koh
Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock -
Further up north, some extraordinary dive sites invite the
adventurous diver to unforgettable underwater excursions.
Richelieu Rock is an outstanding dive site about 10 miles
south-east of Surin. This pinnacle is worldwide known as
THE WHALESHARK MAGNET. The plankton concentration here is
often very high and thus, the amount and variety of fish
and coral is bigger than anywhere else at Thailand's west
coast. Even the dinosaur-like looking 'ray shark' is seen
here - transforming Richelieu Rock to a Jurassic Park under
water!
Located halfway between Surin and Similan, Koh Tachai and
Koh Bon offer brilliant dives with many soft coral and schools
of large tuna and barracudas. The main attraction of Koh
Tachai is a huge underwater reef with big boulders, sea
fans and swim-through.
Koh Bon is the ultimate spot for deep dives, as the impressing
reefs and walls drop down to depths of more than 45 meters
(150 ft.) in the crystal clear, blue water. Also manta rays
are frequently sighted in this area.
Mergui Archipelago
-Finally, the Burmese authorities pulled the curtain and
opened up this amazing archipelago to foreigners. The Mergui
Archipelago contains more than 800 islands and stretches
over 10.000 square miles.
Burma Banks -
The Burma Banks are a collection of elevated shelves sitting
in a depth exceeding 300m (1000 ft.). The top of the banks
rise to within 15-24m (50-80 ft.) of the surface. Reef fish
are plentiful, but the real thrill of diving here is watching
out for whatever might emerge from the deep blue. .
The
Vessel
 The
29 - meter M / V Philkade, launched in 2002, has been designed
specifically for luxury live- aboard diving cruises. Our
5 - star comfort for a limited number provide the answer
for those tired compromising between exceptional diving
and discomfort and those who prefer diving amidst a school
of fish rather than school of divers.
Built
to meet all international standards, M/V Philkade is equipped
with the latest electronics and safety equipment and is
capable of transoceanic cruises.
 Accommodation
consists of 4 luxury Double-bed cabins with ensuited bathrooms.
(shower cabin and toilet) and a Three-bed cabin and share
bathroom (shower cabin and toilet). All cabins have individual
A/C and are equipped with wardrobes, drawers, safe deposits,
internal phones.
The
Deluxe Cabin has a panoramic ocean view, King size bed,
TV and Home theater, wardrobe, drawers, cabinets, Leather
Sofa, Safe deposit, individual A/C, own large Bathroom (Shower
Cabin, WC, Cabinets). The Deluxe cabin can be accessed from
a main deck private door or from a saloon private door.
The
saloon and dining place offer an amazing 70 sqm surface.
The aft deck entrance door opens on the saloon, on the left
lays a ‘wave shape’ leather Sofa and 2 black granite
coffee tables. On the right, an ‘L Shape’ leather
Sofa with a black granite table. An integrated wood cabinet
shelters the TV and Home Theater, small fridge, cabinets
and drawers and is connected on one side to a Bar with Black
granite top. The en suite dining space can also be accessed
from a separate deck door and is furnished with a Black
granite dining table, an ‘L shape’ leather Sofa
and an electric busboy connecting the galley on the upper
deck.
Boat
layout Philkade
The
upper deck, accessible by large stairs from the main deck
or by a connecting stair to an amazing large Sun bath area
at the front, consists of a fully equipped Galley with stainless
steel appliances, a second saloon with ‘L Shape’
leather Sofa and black Granite coffee table.
A
fully equipped Wheelhouse with one access from the saloon
and two from the walkways.
The
large Aft deck with dining table and chairs offers a unique
al fresco dining experience under the stars and can give
space to a large entertainment floor.
The
spacious Fly bridge, largely shadowed by a retractable sun
awning consists of a second helm, two large Sofas with upholstery,
several cabinets and a BBQ station with a sink. On the Aft
is the Stainless steel Davit which can lift efficiently
the Dinghy and sea kayak
