Dive Training

Dive Training Open Water CourseThis section gives you a rough overview about the various scuba dive courses available. You can obtain information about taking an introductory dive if you have never dived before, to a full certification course which allows you to dive anywhere in the world. Furthermore, for those who are keen to become a scuba diving instructor, we explain the most necessary steps and requirements to get there. Here is a quick overview, in hierarchial order, of the courses available. Just follow the links that relate to the particular course you are interested in.

The detailed information about the courses is mainly related to dive courses in Australia. However, we can also arrange these courses for you at our other destinations.

Accreditations

A dive instructor will teach students according to standards of a dive association. There are a number of dive associations. Some of the biggest ones are PADI, NAUI, SSI and CMAS. They are all internationally recognized dive associations. If you have a certification card with one of them, you can dive anywhere in the world.

In Australia and most other countries in the South Pacific, PADI courses are most common. A limited number of dive operators offer NAUI courses, SSI courses and others.

Medical Preconditions

In Australia, it is required by law to take a medical examination before you take certain dive courses. If you are a certified diver (at any level) and just want to dive, you do not need to take a medical examination in Australia. more details on dive medicals
