seafood, garden produce, tropical fruits and the most succulent
tender meats, all of which are prepared with more than a dash of
innovation. The natural attributes, the service, the standards...all
second to none, are truly the secret to Lizard Island's unique and
unforgettable holiday experience.
Swimming pool, tennis court, (equipment supplied) a relaxing Health
Spa - It's not exactly Robinson Crusoes island. The central Lodge
features a relaxing lounge area, Osprey's restaurant and bar with
a menu boasting international cuisine, a boutique and a reception
area for arranging activities.
Lizard Island is a National Park covering over 1000 hectares,
with 24 sandy beaches and the famous Blue Lagoon, - home to giant
clams and coral gardens. The highest peak is Cooks Look at 359 meters.
Children under 10 are not allowed at Lizard Island Resort.
Accommodation
The exclusiveness of the resort is indicated by the low number
of guests. Lizard Island Lodge has 40 private rooms, all with private
balcony, king or twin beds, air conditioning, ceiling fans, private
bathroom with twin vanity basins and shower, IDD/STD telephone,
fridge, mini bar and iron/ironing board, hairdryer and bathrobes.
Check-in is 3.00pm and check-out is 11.00am.
- Sunset Point Villas: Located cliffside overlooking Anchor
Bay and Sunset Beach, these magnificently designed villas feature
ocean views, timber decor and a spacious open floor plan.
- Anchor Bay Suites: These suites feature a private courtyard,
large spacious deck, a separate living area, timber decor and
views over Anchor Bay, and the Coral Sea.
- Anchor Bay Rooms: These well appointed rooms feature
private balconies set amongst native gardens with views across
Anchor Bay. Family rooms are available.
Dive Services
It is not possible to pre-book diving. Diving at the outer reef
is offered only every second day. One of those 2 dives is always
at the Cod Hole. 2 dives on a full day trip cost AUD$310 with tanks
& weights. On the other days, reefs closer to the island are
visited at a cost of AUD$200 with tanks & weights.
Introductory dive courses available to people in good health. Persons
over 45 years are recommended to obtain a dive medical certificate
prior arrival. Also on offer PADI referral courses for students
who have completed all theory and confirmed water components.
Bookings for intro dive courses must be made prior to arrival.
Includes 4 dives. The referral course runs for 4 days.
Other Activities
Lizard Island rates are virtually all inclusive, covering accommodation,
all meals, and most activities including tennis, windsurfing, water-skiing,
catamaran sailing, glass bottom boat trips, paddle skis, outboard
dinghies, basic fishing gear, snorkelling gear, bushwalking, hiking
and picnics.
