Products / Daytrips / Australia / Reef Quest

Great - no fuss - laid back - super organised

Reef Quest is a 25m state of the art catamaran. The vessel takes a maximum of 80 guests on a day. It caters for snorkellers, certified and introductory divers.

The Reef Quest Discover Scuba Diving program is your perfect introduction to the reef with pre-dive tuition, close underwater supervision, dive recognition card and certificate included. If you or your travel partner want to try it out, Reef Quest offers the perfect service.

Certified divers can explore the Great Barrier Reef on 3 spectacular dives on 2 reef locations.

Dive Sites

The dive locations on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef offer superb coral formations and abundant, colourful marine life including Wally, the friendly 1.5m Maori Wrasse at Norman Reef. Reef Quest can choose between 14 moorings to make sure they get you the best dive for the conditions of the day.

Click here for general information about dive regions which are visited by Reef Quest.

Itinerary

Departs daily from Cairns Marlin Marina (Pier Marketplace) at 9.00am and returns at 4.30pm.

This vessel operates also as transfer boat for guest staying on the reef overnight on Ocean Quest. Reef Quest takes passenger to the outer Great Barrier Reef for 2-3 dives. In the afternoon Reef Quest meets up with Ocean Quest, the liveaboard dive vessel. Some passengers will transfer onto Ocean Quest and others onto Reef Quest for the return journey back to Cairns.

The crew will serve light morning and afternoon tea and treat you to a good lunch.

Features

  • Snorkelling: Visit spectacular Norman Reef at the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef and spend a leisurely five hours at play amongst the colourful coral and marine life. All your snorkelling gear is provided. So there is nothing to hold you back!

  • Introductory Diving: Discover scuba diving. Diving is for everyone... including those who have never dived before. While snorkelling allows you to view fish and coral from above the reef, diving allows you to experience the underwater world close up, explore the coral and swimming with the fish. If this is your only chance to see the Great Barrier Reef, make sure you experience all you can by diving it. We have been taking people to the reef for over 18 years and all Dive Instructors are professionally qualified PADI Instructors. There is still plenty of time to enjoy all other activities on board with family and friends. Please note a medical form must be completed on board.

  • Certified Diving: Certified divers can enjoy up to two dives, with introductory divers able to do a second dive if they choose. Snorkellers can explore spectacular coral formations and underwater gardens teeming with vibrantly coloured marine creatures. The locations vary with the conditions, however each site is chosen for visual impact, ecological diversity and the challenge of discovery.
