Her Eminence Sakya Jetsun Kusho-la.
Born in 1938, Her Eminence is the older sister of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, the head of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism, and also the mother of Luding Khen Rinpoche, the current throne holder of the Ngorpa sub-sect of the Sakyapas. Her Eminence has received teachings from some of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist master of the 20th Century and has undergone the same rigorous training as His Holiness Sakya Trizin. She is a highly revered teacher who skillfully combines work, motherhood and a lay life with a deep commitment to spiritual practice. She is only the third female in the long history of the Sakyapas to have transmitted the Lam Dre teachings, which is the highest Tantric teaching in the Sakya tradition.

Jetsumma did this at age 16! Her Eminence has traveled the world bringing both students and interested individuals the words of the Buddha, while embodying the very meaning of those words in her practice and daily life.
Jetsunma, considered an emanation of Vajroyogini, started her training at six, began teaching at eleven, became a fully empowered Sakya lineage holder at eighteen, and has spent the rest of her life unselfishly working for the benefit of others. We are so fortunate to have such a highly realised teacher to visit us in Cairns.

Uncommon White Tara Initiation on
Monday September 15 at 7-9 pm.

Her Eminence will give the Initiation on Sarasvati on
Tuesday 16 at 7-9 pm.

Sarasvati is the patron of scholars and artisits, bestowing knowledge, eleoquence and creativity. She is a goddess of meditation for increasing intelligence. White Tara, the feminine energy of the Buddhas, is said to have originated from the tears of compassion of the deity Avalokiteshvara.

Her practice assists us to increase our spiritual vitality, health and long life, as well as our ability to work compassionately for others. It also helps to overcome the fear of death. This special uncommon White Tara practrice was passed from Atisha to the kadampa master and then to the Sakya Tradition which has maintained an unbroken lineage to the present day.
This is one of the foundation practices of Khacho Yulo Ling Buddhist centre and practitioners meet every Sunday t o share this wonderful practice. White Tara brought me to the Dharma and to our precious teacher, Lama Choedak Rinpoche. Since receiving it in 1999 I have maintained it as a daily practice and attribute the energy for the work I do to Tara's blessings.

Cost for each workshop is $40, bookings essential.
